Ladies, you’re in for a treat today as I share my super delicious chocolate cake recipe with you. It’s the recipe that, if not the World, at least few fellow mums envy me. It’s so easy and so quick (only 20 minutes in the oven) to make that you have no excuse to buy full-of-nasty-stuff, ready-made cakes when inviting your kids’ friends around the house.
- 150g sugar (should be 200g but I find 150g is enough). I use golden caster sugar as unrefined sugar is said to be healthier, and I like the way it tastes
- 100g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 eggs (organic, free range if possible)
- 200g dark cooking chocolate
- 125g butter
- nice pinch of Maldon salt for the chocolate-sea salt combination lovers
First, mix all the dry ingredients together. Then add the eggs one by one.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave, with 1 tbsp of water or 2. And whilst the chocolate is still tepid, add chunks of butter into it, and I let it melt, stirring with a wooden spoon.
Finally, mix it all together, pour in an oven proof cake or pie dish lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees (fan assisted) for 20 minutes. THE END.
This cake is so so so yummy that I have never so far managed to take a picture as it gets devoured in no time! Please feel free to send a picture of your own cake if you manage to get one…
